What To Expect! - Details

2025 REGISTRATION OPENS IN JANUARY

Thank you for considering me as your child’s instructor for Swimming Lessons. Whatever their current skill level, prepare to be amazed as you see the true learning capacity of your child. Remember, you have an active role to play in the success of the lessons!

I want to be sure I have answered your questions and concerns before we start – If you are “at ease” during the lessons – your child is more likely to be so too! If you have any additional concerns don’t hesitate to ask pool side or call me later.

WATCH ME TEACH

I strongly advise you to come and watch me teach a few lessons before you register. This will give you an opportunity to see first-hand the environment I work in, how I work with children and to talk to other parents about their experiences. It will also give your child an opportunity to see my yard – so they are a little familiar before we get wet! You do not need an appointment to observe lessons – you can drop by any time I am in the pool.

MY LOCATION

I teach out of my home at 107 Meadowcreek Cove, Longwood, FL 32750. Parking, once we get started is at the adjacent business just off SR434

LESSON TIMES

I teach every weekday Monday to Thursday – weather permitting – in my own pool in Longwood.

Morning Lessons: 8am – 11am
Afternoon Lessons: 2pm – 7pm

Each student attends lessons 4 days a week for 10 minutes each lesson.

Lesson times are allocated on a first come basis. Time slots can become available at any time. As you register you will be asked to select the hours you are available to attend lessons. Once a time slot becomes available I will contact you the week before to confirm your start date. (I will not call you before then)

STUDENT GENERAL REGISTRATION

All students must complete a registration form $65.00 (One time – payable when lessons start)
Registration remains valid with consecutive year participation.
Any student under the care of a medical specialist must complete a medical release form – available pool side.

SELF-RELIANCE SKILLS (ONE ON ONE LESSONS)

Weekly charge – Four lessons (Monday – Thursday) $88.00  (Sibling Rate $68.00
Lessons missed for any reason are charged at $10 per lesson. I reserve the right to charge full rate for lessons missed if a child withdraws from the program prematurely and for other reasons. E.g. Day Trips to Disney! (I will do this if the student is taking a time slot that could be filled by another child.)

PAYMENT

Payment for registration and lessons can be made pool side on a weekly basis.

Ensure your child’s full name is on the payment so I can allocated it correctly.

Make checks payable to Geoff Dawson

I also accept Zelle, Pay Pal and Credit Cards (With convenience fee)

SPECIAL FINANCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

You will not find any “specials” for Swim Lessons on social websites or Groupon. I don’t discount lessons to attract business. However….
It is my policy that no child be denied lessons based on financial need. If you have observed lessons and decided this is the right program for your child but are experiencing financial hardship, please contact me. I will work with any family to ensure all children who need lessons will get them. This may include offering a payment plan, reducing the overall cost or a combination of both.
I am able to do this because families who can afford to pay my rate do so. If you are paying my regular rate you really are helping me reach out to the community so that every child who needs lessons can get them – Thank You!

SUPPLIES TO BRING

• A motivated “fit to swim” Infant – Remember – No Food for at least 1hr before the lesson
• Towels
• Swim diaper – I recommend the elasticated reusable type. Please bring a spare in case of accidents and take all used diapers with you!

RESTROOMS

The restroom is accessed through the French doors in the Florida room. Go through the kitchen and follow the hall to the end. Please take all soiled diapers home with you. It makes for a safer, more pleasant environment for all.

BABY FEEDING

However you choose to feed your baby is fine with me – If you need a little extra privacy, the living room is inside the french doors to the left.

PHOTOGRAPHS & VIDEO

Feel free to video the lessons and take pictures for your private use. Many kids love to see themselves in lessons and it helps them appreciate their own accomplishments! If you have some great pictures or video – I’d love to see them too! Friend me on Facebook or email them to me.
